Circle Theatre is a non-profit professional theatre located in the heart of downtown Fort Worth, deeply committed to enriching the cultural landscape of North Texas. Founded in 1981, our mission is to champion contemporary plays that are rarely seen in our community, presenting them in an intimate setting with a focus on professional and innovative theatrical experiences. As a Small Professional Theatre with Actors' Equity, we take pride in providing opportunities for talented actors, directors, and designers pursuing their careers right here in Texas.
We serve our community by offering a year-round season of engaging and thought-provoking plays, encompassing a diverse range of genres from comedies and dramas to musicals. A significant aspect of our work involves showcasing new plays, often as regional premieres, and fostering the talents of emerging artists in the field. Beyond our main stage productions, we actively engage with local youth through initiatives like our annual High School Playwriting Project, nurturing the next generation of theatre enthusiasts and creators. We also collaborate with universities to provide students with professional theatre experience and extend our reach to young audiences who may have limited access to live performances.
Our primary audience is the general theatre-going public in North Texas, who appreciate the unique and intimate atmosphere of our theatre and the high caliber of our artistic work. We strive to create productions that not only entertain but also inspire conversation and connection within our diverse community. Through our commitment to artistic excellence and community engagement, Circle Theatre remains a vital cornerstone of the performing arts in Fort Worth, contributing to the cultural vibrancy of our downtown area.
