City Year Kansas City (CYKC) is an education-focused non-profit whose mission is to build democracy through citizen service, civic leadership, and social entrepreneurship. We fulfill this mission by advancing equity and improving outcomes for students in communities challenged by the persistent inequity in our education system. CYKC seeks to create equitable education opportunities so that all children – regardless of race or economic background – receive a high-quality education. To reach this goal, each year CYKC unites teams of diverse young adult AmeriCorps members (ACMs) to serve full-time as student success coaches in our partner schools.
