The Cleveland Humanities Magnet Parent Association (CHMPA)'s mission is to support the Cleveland Humanities Magnet High School’s philosophy and programs through fundraising activities, To foster a spirit of inclusion, partnership and cooperation among the entire Magnet community, and to facilitate communication and parent education as well as encourage and coordinate volunteerism. The Humanities Magnet is a program at Cleveland Charter High School, is a Title I affiliated charter 9-12 high school in the Los Angeles Unified School District, San Fernando Valley. The Magnet serves approximately 750 students with a broad range of diversity in terms of race, ethnicity, and socio-economic background. The CHMPA provides auxiliary funding to support the Humanities magnet program, (also known as CORE), which refers specifically to the classes that are writing-based, interdisciplinary, and team-taught, primarily the literature, social studies, art history, and philosophy classes.
