Community Harvest seeks to alleviate hunger through the full use of donated food and other resources. Our mission is simple—we feed vulnerable families, seniors, children, and Veterans. We have held this for nearly 40 years, since we were founded in 1983 and received our 501(c)(3) designation. Our mission field is throughout northeast Indiana. We serve the counties of Adams, Allen, DeKalb, Huntington, LaGrange, Noble, Steuben, Wells, and Whitley through our hunger-relief programs:

- Farm Wagon is our largest food distribution program. Refrigerated trucks visit all nine counties weekly, providing people in rural areas with fresh produce.

- Saturday Helping Hands distributes healthy food to families each week in a drive-through distribution. This program is open to all, but Allen County residents are the primary ones that attend.

- Community Cupboard is a pantry where families can select foods that best fit their needs.

- Hope for Heroes provides food assistance to Veterans and military families. Veterans can pick out 100 pounds of groceries through Community Cupboard, monthly.

- SeniorPak/CSFP (Commodity Supplemental Food Program): low-income seniors receive meals from us every other week through SeniorPak. CSFP provides monthly food bags to qualifying seniors. Volunteers deliver food to seniors who are medically homebound, and seniors who are mobile visit our Tillman Road building.

- Kids BackPack/TeenPak provides children and teenagers with food for the weekend. About 450 ten-pound bags are distributed to qualifying children weekly.

- Kids Café & Summer Feeding programs provide children with food on weekdays after school and during summer vacation.

- Crisis Assistance provides a ten-pound food bag plus available produce on an emergency walk-in basis, plus information about our programs and distributions.

We also work with over 350 nonprofit member agencies. When agencies are unable to supply their clients with food, they have the option order online vouchers. Vouchers allow for their clients to shop at Community Cupboard. Clients experience independence and freedom when doing so. Community Cupboard is set up like a grocery store, but clients walk out without spending a cent.
