Cattaraugus Community Action, Inc. (CCA) is a prvate, not-f0r-profit organization formed in 1965 in response to the War on Poverty. CCA's mission statement reads as follows: "Cattaraugus Community Action, Inc. partners with the community to provide strengths-based opportunities for vulnerable people to achieve economic, physical and emotional security." The organization is governed by a fifteen-member board of directors, which be federal statute, is comprised of 3 sectors representing the low-income community, elected officials, and the private sector. 

Today, CCA provides services and opportunities for low-income and disenfranchised people in eight basic \categories, the categories are as follows: energy conservation, emergency and homeless services, housing, nutrition, victim services, youth programs, parental supports and mental health care.
