The Cook County Sheriff’s Office is the 2nd largest Sheriff’s Department in the world, with over
6700 sworn and civilian members. Our members are always available to answer the call to protect
and serve, with some of our departments operating 24/7, 365 days a year. The Cook County
Sheriff’s Office Staff Wellness and Peer Support Unit is one such department.

The Staff Wellness and Peer Support Unit is tasked with creating and implementing services that
address the emotional, mental, and physical wellness of each of our members to better enable
them to perform at their highest abilities. Part of this mission is to design wellness initiatives that
create opportunities for growth, physical engagement, and total wellness.
