The Coralwood Foundation's mission is to promote excellence in early childhood inclusion education, and to provide a vehicle for long-term financial support for the Coralwood School. Coralwood School is the only public school in DeKalb County, Georgia dedicated to serving children with special needs in preschool, pre-k, and kindergarten. Coralwood educates nearly 250 students, approximately half of whom have special needs, which includes children who have autism or down syndrome, severe speech/language disabilities, and motor disorders such as cerebral palsy or spina bifida. In most cases, special-needs and typically-developing students learn together in inclusion classrooms—a unique model that benefits all children.
