Cornerstone Community Outreach is a nonprofit 501(c)3 organization operating one of the largest homeless shelters in Chicago. We were founded in 1989 with the purpose of transforming the quality of life for people experiencing homelessness. 

We at CCO shelter value going above and beyond the basic housing needs of our clients. Two of our programs support families, one for single mothers, and the other program for families of all kinds. We support these families and individuals in multiple facets of life, not only housing but also education (partnering with Chicago Hopes for Kids in after-school programs), and healthcare (partnering with Heartland Alliance for on-site medical services). It is an important part of our mission to not only provide these basics, but also provide spaces for emotional well being and community.
