Corridor Rescue was formed to serve the needs of a very low income urban area in Houston, known as the Corridor of Cruelty (the "Corridor"),where animals are routinely dumped, abandoned and roam freely, even if they have owners. The incidence of heartworm infection is high and most animals have not been spayed or neutered. We have a street team that goes out and feeds the homeless, hungry animals who have no other support and who are waiting their turn for rescue. When we have space and funding we bring the animals into our program where we treat the medical conditions, rehabilitate and find adoptive homes. In 2016 we were named Houston's #1 Rescue/Foster Group by Houston Pet Talk Magazine and in 2018 we were named a Halliburton Hometown Hero.
