The Courtland Band Parents Association (or CBPA) helps the every growing band program at Courtland High School of Spotsylvania, VA.  CBPA meets generally on a monthly basis during the school year to discuss up coming band events, volunteers needed, instrument and other equipement needs, as well as fundraising.  During the fall, Friday and Saturdays are busy for CBPA.  CBPA provides volunteers for chaperones as well as parents helping transport bigger instruments and equipment, such as show props, to various football games and marching band competitions throughout the state of Virginia.

This past fall, the Royal Brigade Marching Band of Courtland High Schools consisted of about 80 students.  If you were to also add additional band groups (Jazz Band, Wind Ensemble, Concert/Symphonic Band, Indoor Drumline, etc), the number of students that benefits from the work of the CBPA increases greatly.  The continued support of the CBPA helps decrease funding issues that are caused by the limited arts funds provided to these groups.
