For the last 15 years, Cruisin' the Boulevard has been hosting Petaluma's Salute to American Graffiti, a classic car show and cruise that is held on the same streets that George Lucas used to film the greatest car movie ever, American Graffiti.  With 400 Classic cars from throughout the United States and over 30,000 visitors from all over the world, Petaluma's Salute to American Graffiti is known world wide.

Since we are an all volunteer 501c3 non-profit, in the last 14 years we have raised and reinvested over $200,000 back into our community.  With this money we have purchased and placed over 100 AEDs (Automated External Deliberator) into our community. We have placed one or more AEDs into each of our 31 Petaluma police cars, our four local high schools, senior centers, visitor’s center, into city hall, and many public buildings. By us placing AEDs, Petaluma has been recognized as one of the few cities in Northern California that is registered as a “Heart Safe Community”. We have also supplied our local fire department with a special hydraulic gurney (cot) and started four Scholarship Funds, which so far, has helped over 35 graduating seniors with their college expenses.

Last year one of our local high schools almost eliminated the auto shop program when the teacher quit after just a few weeks.  That auto shop program had been going on since the 1940’s.  Cruisin the Boulevard stepped in; we helped find a teacher and donated 4 complete test engine stands.  Today the program is well on its way to be one of the best auto shop programs in our county.

Our 2020 event will be held on May 14th, 15th, and 16th.  The event starts with our Scholarship Dinner on May 14th.  On May 15th, we hold our “kick off” party at one of our local shopping centers and on May 16th, we hold our car show and cruise in old downtown Petaluma, on the same streets that the movie was filmed on.
