Founded in the 1930s, Dallas Tennis (known as the Dallas Tennis Association) has always understood the need for, and importance of, including, a philanthropic mission to our organization. Tennis provides extraordinary health benefits, community, friendship, and a recreational sport that improves both physical and mental acuity through competition. But it doesn’t stop there.

Today, thanks to the generosity of thousands of United States Tennis Association (USTA) players, donors, volunteers, the USTA Tennis Foundation and our entire Dallas Tennis community, the Education Academy of Dallas Tennis (DTEA) reaches more than 1,000 underserved, at-risk children of all ages and abilities each year. The DTEA supports numerous National Junior Tennis and Learning initiatives. We are an introduction to tennis. But more than that, we are a loving, encouraging, supportive initiative to underserved youth that says, “You are important. You are worthy. You can excel.”

The United States Tennis Association (USTA) is the national governing body for the sport of tennis and the recognized leader in promoting and developing the sport’s growth on every level in the United States, from local communities to the crown jewel of the professional game, the US Open. The USTA is a not-for-profit organization with more than 700,000 members including nearly 13,000 in Dallas who are members of Dallas Tennis.

Mission Statement: To provide opportunities to improve the mental and physical well-being of the community through education and the sport of tennis.

Vision:  To build sustainable programs and facilities that provide access to education and tennis for all people in the Greater Dallas Community, now and for future generations.

Strategic Plan Statement: Increase awareness and tennis participation in the greater Dallas metropolitan area through our adult and junior programs so that the organization can continue providing FREE/low cost tennis and education to the DTA’s ever-growing philanthropic DTEA programs.
