Mission Statement:

To preserve and protect the life, health, and property of the residents of Hood County affected by fire, disaster and medical emergencies through education, training, prevention, preparation, and response.

The DCBE Acton Volunteer Fire Department responds to Fire, Rescue, and Medical Emergencies within a 42 square mile district. DCBE Acton VFD has 28 active members consisting of 2 FF/EMT-P, 10 FF/EMT, 1 FF/ECA, 1 EMT, and 14 FF. In 2023, DCBE Acton VFD responded to 1240 incidents. There are 6,050 households in the primary response area for the DCBE Acton VFD.  In addition to these households, DCBE Acton VFD has numerous critical infrastructures to protect including but not limited to major thoroughfare U.S. Highway 377, 249 drilled wells, gas processing facility, fuel, hydrogen, and wastewater plants, Power towers and Pylons, public utility district, schools, banks, and post office.  In addition to the 42 square mile response area, DCBE Acton VFD provides mutual aid to 8 additional volunteer fire departments in Hood County.  Hood county has a population of 67,774 and spans over 420 square miles. Hood County also has a high tourism rate which brings in many visitors on weekends and holidays.  DCBE Acton VFD is also in the emergency response mutual aid contract for the Comanche Peak Nuclear Power Plant, Wolf Hollow Power Plant, and the DeCordova Power Plant.
