The mission of the Denton High School Family Assistance Foundation is to provide financial or other assistance to current and former Denton (Texas) High School students, faculty, and staff and their families in times of medical or other crises. We are led by an all volunteer 15-member board of directors, most of whom alumni, including the current and past principals of Denton High School.

Members of the Denton High School family who are experiencing financial distress caused by medical or other crises may apply for a grant from the Foundation by completing an application on our website. Our Grants Committee will review the application and will obtain additional information and supportive documentation from the applicants. The Grants Committee will then make a recommendation to the full Board of Directors, which will vote on whether to award the Grant. Through 2021, the Foundation had awarded over $105,000 in grants to deserving members of the Denton High family.

We work very hard to keep our expenses low. Because we have no overhead for salaries or facilities, our expenses are almost entirely associated with promoting and presenting events and maintaining fundraising campaigns. To the greatest extent possible, we try to secure sponsorships from generous donors to pay event expenses. Our goal is to use as much of the proceeds from our fundraisers as possible to fund grants.
