Developmental Therapy Center, Inc., (DTC) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Developmental Therapy Center has been providing invaluable therapeutic services in Huntington, WV, since 1951.  Our mission is to provide access to special instruction services, occupational, physical and speech-language therapy for infants, children and adults in our community regardless of age, income or geographic location.  Many of our patients have inadequate or no insurance coverage for their condition and are economically disadvantaged.  Others have payment methods, which only allow limited visits per calendar year.

Our patients can be seen via a variety of models, including face-to-face sessions, teletherapy sessions, and a blended model (face-to-face and teletherapy). We offer individual sessions tailored to each of our patient's needs.  In addition, we offer co-treatments for many of our patients.  Co-treatments are treatment sessions where two therapist work with the patient simultaneously.  Co-treatments maximize therapy time, facilitate generalization and improve the treatment outcomes between disciplines.  We do not necessarily always co-treat for the entire session.  We also do many partial co-treatments, perhaps for 15 or 30 minutes of the session. It is individualized based on each patient's needs.  We incorporate each patient's family member or members into the therapeutic sessions. It is our role as therapists to send each family home with the tools needed to support the developmental needs of their child or children.

DTC's Goals are as follows:  1.  DTC will deliver the finest patient care through a highly skilled team of therapists with a broad foundation of knowledge and experience.  2.  DTC will assist with identifying children in the community who need early intervention services.  3.  DTC will seek to provide support to family members of children and adults with special needs.  4.  DTC will strive to provide public awareness of age-appropriate developmental milestones for children. 5. DTC will promote community awareness of the needs of individuals with disabilities.
