The Diamond Bar High School Band is comprised of Woodwind, Brass, and Percussion players, freshmen through seniors. The band works on many of the fundamental playing skills, including sound production, intonation, and matching musical styles as composers dictate.

Objectives:

1. For students of all ability levels to enjoy performing music from a variety of style periods and genres - classical, folk, jazz and contemporary styles. (To have fun in the process of making music!)

2. For students to gain a greater understanding and appreciation of the role music and the arts play in our society.

3. For students to learn the benefits and challenges of working together toward a common goal (i.e. public performances).

4. For students to grow in their individual study of an instrument. Students will grow in their technique and musicality.

5. For students to develop their listening skills in large and small group settings, using a variety of instructional methods and rehearsal techniques.
