The mission of Disability Resource Association (DRA) is personal empowerment for individuals with disabilities, older adults and those in need.
For more than 20 years, DRA has sponsored a Back-to-School Health and Education Fair to provide school supplies for the students from low-income homes in our county. Our goal is to empower these children to be set for success at school. In 2024, our event will be at the Jefferson College Field House in Hillsboro on Thursday, July 25. We expect to serve about 700 low-income students who attend school districts all over Jefferson County, MO. Families must meet income guidelines (135% of poverty level or below) and pre-register their children. Each child who attends the Fair will choose a backpack that fits their style, school supplies and a free pair of name-brand shoes. Over 30 carefully selected vendors also attend this event to offer haircuts, books, vision and hearing screenings, dental screenings and emergency dental services, and many other free giveaways and vital resources. Thanks to the generosity and the kindness of all our sponsors and vendors, ALL of these are provided at NO CHARGE to the students who attend our Fair!
