The Do It For Durrett Foundation (DIFD) was established after Richard Durrett, a local sports writer for the Texas Rangers, suddenly passed at 38 leaving his then-pregnant wife and two small children. The non-profit was quickly put together to support Richard’s family and has since grown to raising over $1.3M and helping hundreds of local working-class families in DFW that have been impacted by sudden loss. In 2020, DIFD also helped first responders and assisted with funerals.
NextStep Recruiting hosts an Annual Celebrity Charity Golf Tournament to help raise funds for this incredible charity. In 2020, DIFD was unable to have their annual event due to regulations but we were fortunate to raise $25,000 in our efforts, bringing our total contributions to $48,500 since 2018!
Our 4th Annual Charity Golf Tournament is scheduled for Thursday, June 17th at Cowboys Golf Club. Our event has been a huge hit and is continuing to gain attention with advertisements and virtual broadcasting from 1310 The Ticket, golfing participations from local media and athletes such as Ivan ‘Pudge’ Rodriguez, Derek Holland, Colby Lewis, Jon Daniels, Emily Jones and many, many more!
