The Downingtown West Cheerleading Association supports our high school cheerleading athletes as well as the surrounding community. Cheer is so much more than a sport to our athletes. Cheer builds confidence, perseverance and strong relationships. Participation in a sport increases academic performance and exposes our athletes to volunteerism at events such as youth camps and Special Olympics. We give back locally by participating in various donation drives for people in need, such as those affected in Downingtown by Hurricane Ida last year. We host a cheerleading competition between neighboring clubs to showcase the local talent. Through our fundraising efforts, we purchase items for the team that the school is not able to, such as gym mats and choreography fees. These funds also enable the Downingtown West Cheerleaders to compete in many local and regional competitions, with the end goal being The National High School Cheerleading Championship in Orlando, Florida.
