The Dream Factory of Rochester is a volunteer based organization that fulfills dreams for children, in our community, ages 3 through 18, who have been diagnosed with critical or chronic illnesses.
Our local chapter is run completely by volunteer, there are no paid empoloyees, no rented office space, very little overhead. Our National HQ, located in Louisville, KY has just four paid employees. Because of this donors and sponsors can be assured that their contributions are serving it's intended purpose of fulfilling a child's dream. The fact that The Dream Factory fulfills dreams for children with chronic conditions opens the door to many kids who are living with their challenging conditions day in and day out. We recognize that illnesses such as Type 1 diabetes, Crohn's disease, Ehler's Danlos Sydrome, hemophilia,sickle cell, spina bifida, to name a few, have a serious affect on a child's life and we want to reward the strength that they find within themselves by doing something wonderful for them. Children with cancer, heart conditions, etc, fall into our critical category so of course, they are eligible for dreams as well.
A trip to Disney World, a Broadway show, a train ride through the Rocky Mountains, a trip to California to see the San Diego Padres and San Francisco Giants, a kidcave,a computer and even a horse are just a sampling of some of the dreams we have fulfilled.
