For almost 30 years, the Dream Street Foundation has provided camping programs to children and young adults with chronic, life-threatening, and terminal illnesses. Campers are given the opportunity to enjoy activities in which they would normally be unable to participate, while Dream Street supports their medical needs.
For children who require medicine several times daily, the usual sleep-away camp is not sufficiently sophisticated. Dream Street provides for sicker children than any other camp can; volunteer medical staff is available 24 hours a day to dispense medications and offer the highest quality care. Volunteer counselors ensure that the campers simply get to be kids.
Over 800 children and young adults attend Dream Street programs each summer. Dream Street operates and funds programs in Arizona, Arkansas, California, Massachusetts, Mississippi, and New Jersey.
All Dream Street programs are free of charge to the campers who attend. There are no paid salaries within the Dream Street Foundation.
