Droopy Basset Hound Rescue of western PA is an all volunteer effort to save abandoned basset hounds for the love of the breed.
Rescued bassets are from pounds or shelters or strays whose owners can't be found. Or reliquished by owners who no longer want or can care for them. The bassets are put into our foster care where they are cared for until an adoptive home can be found. We provide all veterinary care needed as well as parasite treatment and preventatives as well as love and care.
We are also dedicated to education about the breed, focusing on topics such as pet over population, proper nutrition, vet care and exercise.
Our mission is to find these bassets forever adoptive homes. If due to health or behavior issues an adoptive home is not possible, the basset remains in our care for the rest of its life.
