Ideas to Simplify the Mission Statement

-          DSAGR improves the quality of life for individuals with Down syndrome and their families by empowering individuals, educating families and enhancing the Central Virginia community.

-          DSAGR improves the quality of life for individuals with Down syndrome and their families by providing social, educational and enriching opportunities… For our members and the Central Virginia community;  That enhance the Central Virginia community

This has been an extremely challenging time for the Down Syndrome Association of Greater Richmond.  We rely 100% on local donations to support over 650 families throughout Central Virginia.  The absence of face-to-face contact has not only caused our organization financial hardship but, more importantly it has isolated families who need support for their loved one with Down syndrome. This donation would help DSAGR continue to remind families, educators, medical professionals and other service providers that we are here and ready to support ALL families who have a loved one with DS.  Identifying families who live in remote areas, rely on the bus for transportation, or do not have computers creates barriers to services for those with disabilities.  We want to be able to promote the 21+ programs/services that we offer that are so valuable to all families from the time a child with DS is born to the time that they pass away.  We take this life partnership vary seriously and we want to be there every step of the way for families who have a child with DS.  We hope that your organization will partner with DSAGR to help bridge this gap so that all families are aware of the services and supports that we provide.
