“Truckers helping Truckers”

On June 30, 2010, DT King was injured in a major head-on collision involving himself and another truck. To say our lives changed that day is an understatement. It also affected the other driver’s family as well. DT King later died on November 3, 2010, from complications ultimately due to his accident. For 6 months, my grandmother and other family members were at his side. The income stops, but bills keep piling on. Who is going to help get them through this? This happens daily in this business. Who picks up the pieces? That is where we come in and support the Great American TRUCKER and their family.

Trucking has been part of our family for the last 50-plus years, and we are starting this foundation to help truckers and their families when they are affected by an unforeseen tragic event. We want to be able to provide the family with the financial support they may need to get through a tragic event. We want to give back to the family that had allowed their family member to be able to provide all of us with the goods that we need and/or want in our life. These men and women that drive these 18-wheelers our special, unique human beings that are not always treated with the kindness and respect that others in this world get from the American public. We want them to be recognized and celebrated for their hard, tireless, mostly unappreciated work that they have done for every one of us. Without Truckers, we would not survive. Our goal for 2020 was to start the King of the Road Foundation in honor of DT and Joan King. The ultimate team in the cow-hauling world. They are our parents, grandparents, teacher, friends and family and we want to honor them as well as every other TRUCKER that we can. Regardless of what is going on in our society, we will get this done in 2020.
