We provide adaptive horse back riding lessons to kids and adults with disabilties.  We currently serve 33 kids with lessons every week - the program teaches horseback riding skills, leadership skills, and independence while providing therapeutic benefits to all of our riders.  We have kids with cerebral palsy, down syndrome, FAS, autism, ADHD and many other forms of challenges.  We also have 70+ volunteers who work with us every week to keep the kids in the saddle.  Our goal is for Great Plains riders to become as independent as they can be.  While this looks different for each rider, it takes the same patience, persistence and love of riding.

Our program forms a connection between the horse and rider that improves out clients' overall well-being.  We have seen kids take their first steps at the ranch, turn a 180 in regards to the FAS, and talk for the very first time.

The program changes lives and as one parent told us ' thank you for giving us HOPE!'
