Operating in Partnership with the National Park Service, Dunes Learning Center is a national model for place-based environmental education. Guided by our mission "to inspire lasting curiosity and stewardship with nature," Dunes Learning Center educators share their knowledge and enthusiasm with school children, educators, and families through year-round curriculum and standards-based environmental education and community outreach programs throughout Indiana and the Chicago area.
Last year Dunes Learning Center's educators provided critical and beneficial connection to nature for more than 9,000 individuals - adding to a total of more than 90,000 since our inception in 1998. Programs serve learners of all ages and abilities and include:
-Single and multi-day residential experiences at our Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore campus
-Service-learning stewardship programs at sites throughout northwest Indiana
-Classroom programs that bring environmental learning experiences to schools
-Open-house events serving hundreds of visitors
-Professional development, adult, and family programs.
Your donation will be used at our annual fundraising gala to support children in underserved communities to attend a program at Dunes Learning Center.
