The mission of the Eagle Foundation is to supplement the academic, cultural, athletic, and activity programs of the Cumberland Valley School District by offering, supporting, or underwriting experiences that enrich and enhance the lives of the young people and adults of our community. The Cumberland Valley School District is a k-12 public school district that is currently the fastest growing District in the state. The Foundation supports many activities but those that are budgeted for annually include:
ACADEMIC SCHOLARSHIPS
Each year the Foundation awards scholarships to selected seniors based on academic achievement and excellence in a particular discipline such as fine arts, science, or vocational/technical fields.
LEARNING GRANTS FUND
Each school year the Eagle Foundation board administers a Learning Grants Fund, which enables CV teachers to apply for learning grants (maximum
of $2,000).
THE BUDDY PROGRAM
The Buddy Program was started in 1997. The program pairs CV graduates with middle school students in order to help students enhance self-esteem, promote self-advocacy, and build peer relationships.
READING/MATH BOOSTER PROGRAMS
Each spring Cumberland Valley’s teachers identify students entering grades 1-5 who could benefit from extra help with their reading and/or math skills.
SUMMER ENRICHMENT CAMPS
The Eagle Foundation provides numerous educational one-week courses for students in grades 1-12 during the summer months. The course subjects vary from year to year but often include math, science, art, science, cooking, and theatre camps.
