Eagle Oak Retreat Foundation is a wellness retreat located in Italy, Texas that serves veterans, first responders and their families. The retreat will host the peer based, Warrior PATHH program that was established in 2013 in partnership with the Boulder Crest Foundation.  The Warrior PATHH program is based on the decades-old science of Posttraumatic Growth that enables participants to meaningfully transform times of deep struggle into profound strength and lifelong growth.  This program is provided at no charge to the participants and relies solely on donations.  The Warrior PATHH program is offered in 8 other locations in the United States plus their mobile team that moves throughout the United States. Eagle Oak Retreat is the 10th site and the only site in Texas to host this program. The first program is slated to commence in March 2023.

Our mission is to provide combat veterans and first responders with the skills necessary to overcome traumatic stress experienced as a result of their service to our country/community.  The Warrior PATHH program and Warrior PATHH Family Rest and Reconnection program focuses on posttraumatic growth for the participant and their families.  It is designed to give our warriors the training they need to turn struggle into strength through education on finances, coping mechanisms, emotional support to strengthen their role as citizens in the community and family home life.

Why we exist:  Nearly 1 million post-9/11 combat veterans and first responders struggle with combat-related stress.  Over 22 veterans die every day by suicide, and we lost more first responders to suicide every year than in the line of duty.  Studies consistently show that conventional treatments such as talk therapy and pharmaceuticals, are either ineffective, inaccessible, or both.

Our vision is to create a wellness retreat, providing our heroes with programs that focus on posttraumatic growth, nurturing ways to identify coping mechanisms to struggle well and a place to foster community support to help them find a new purpose and thrive in the life.
