Mission: East Texas CASA will recruit and train volunteers to advocate for the best interests of children and youth who are removed from their families due to abuse or neglect in Gregg, Rusk, and Upshur Counties.

Description: East Texas CASA provides valuable volunteer advocacy for every child who has experienced abuse and neglect in Gregg, Rusk and Upshur Counties. CASA volunteers provide information and feedback to the court and represent the child’s best interests. Our volunteer advocates are often the only stable presence in the life of a child going through the foster care system.

Training a volunteer costs $1,700 per person and East Texas CASA was able to train 523 volunteers over the past 10 years representing and serving 2,114 children in foster care.  We hold an annual fundraiser in April called East Texas CASA Presents, and we are requesting a donation to be used in the silent auction of our 2024 event. Your donation will help recruit, train and retain volunteers as well as help to purchase items that are needed during home visits for CASA children.

We would be especially thankful for your support.
