Easterseals VT has grown organically as a grassroots organization over the past 38 years serving more than 2,000 children and parents annually. The unique variety of programs we offer is shaped by our ongoing commitment to identifying gaps in services and securing family-centered solutions for challenges parents and children face. Easterseals VT’s mission is to provide exceptional services to ensure that all people with disabilities or other challenges and their families have equal opportunities to live, learn, work, and play in their communities Our mission and services, as well as all financials and fundraising, are determined and fully managed at the local level.
The parents we serve often experience generational trauma in their families, which impedes their ability to create relational success at the family level. Our goal is to prevent child abuse and neglect and give parents the tools they need to parent effectively. To this end, we work collaboratively with families and teams that are pursuing healthy attachments, trauma repair, quality mental health treatment, and permanency for children connected to the Department for Children and Families (DCF). Our ongoing objective is to help build a strong future for Vermont children in communities across the state by assisting families with their needs as they learn and grow together.
