Our allocated budget from CPS covers our basic operating expenses and staffing. It does not cover technology, supplementary materials or extra curricular materials that many other schools (with a higher percentage of low-income students) can purchase with the additional funds they receive. Because of this, the families of Edison Park work hard to fundraise and fill these gaps.

The Edison Park Elementary Foundation is a charitable public foundation recognized by the Internal Revenue Service as a 501(c)3 tax-exempt organization and is thereby able to receive grants and tax-deductible gifts and contributions.

The EPE Foundation Board works with the school administration to manage fundraising dollars in the best interests of the students at Edison Park. Our first priority is maintaining current staffing levels. In the event that staffing is maintained through the allocated CPS budget, fundraising contributions can be reallocated to meet other pressing needs. The EPE Foundation Board will work with the school administration to determine any school-wide needs with a priority on access to technology. If monies are available after those needs are met, teachers and staff are invited to write grant requests to the EPE Foundation to enhance their curriculum and opportunities for our students.
