The Edstrong Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization with the mission to accompany and support those with spinal cord injuries through their journey - by enabling them with rehab exercise programs, resources, and most of all community - empowering them to live their best lives.

In September of 2018, founder Edwin Munoz, a former UMHB football player, sustained a spinal cord injury in a diving accident at Lake Belton. That nearly fatal dive initially left Edwin paralyzed from the neck down. As an uninsured patient, getting access to therapy and equipment was difficult and unimaginably expensive. Thanks to an incredible support system, Edwin was able to raise funds to cover one year worth of therapy. Instead of stretching the money to last just the year, Edwin purchased the equipment needed for his recovery. Applying his background in exercise physiology and a lot of hard work, Edwin recovered more than doctors ever imagined. Moreso, what began as Edwin’s personal mission birthed the idea of EDSTRONG - a foundation dedicated to helping many others in the same situation, on the same journey, to walk again.
