Our Football Program hosts our annual golf tournament to raise the necessary funds it requires to run
our program. As you may be aware, public school athletic programs are minimally funded/supported
by the school districts, county, or state and it is up to the players, their families, alumni, and boosters to
generate the required funds to keep the program alive. The money raised at this function will go
directly to the program's operating costs; estimated to be nearly $200K this year. We hope to raise $50K
at our fundraiser to offset these expenses.
The demographics of our school's location don’t afford us the luxury of having parents just funding
support to our program. Nor do we have the ability to require player fees; we can only ask for
donations; some of our players don’t have the means to even participate in the minimal $450 donation
we seek. In comparison to other local high schools that requested donations of $1,200 and higher per
player; we try to raise outside funds to offset the burden on our families.
