El Nido Family Centers is one of the most respected social service nonprofit organizations in Los Angeles, founded in 1925.
Each year El Nido transforms the lives of approximately 12,000 individuals from Los Angeles’s most under-resourced communities. We empower families in urgent need by:
- Providing parenting classes and mental health assistance
- Helping to increase financial and housing stability
- Fostering academic success through tutoring, college counseling, and scholarships
- Keeping youth away from gang violence through our culinary and hospitality education program
The mission of El Nido is to empower families in low-income communities of Los Angeles County to break the cycle of poverty, child abuse, violence, academic failure, and teen pregnancy through outstanding educational, youth development, health, and therapeutic services. Our vision is one of healthy families and communities that provide the resources and support for all young people to attain their full potential—including building lifelong skills and accessing economic and employment opportunities for a more prosperous future.
