My Daughter, Elizabeth Giordano was a Wrentham, Massachusetts native who lost her life in May 2009 at the age of 24 in a car crash caused by distracted driving.
To honor the memory of a thoughtful, loving woman whose life ended before it had barely begun, and to extend her legacy of helping others, Elizabeth’s family created the Elizabeth K. Giordano Scholarship Fund, a 501(c)(03) tax exempt, 509(a) private non-operating foundation, which is branded the Hummingbird Foundation.
The foundation’s mission is to raise awareness of — and combat — distracted driving and lessen the toll it takes on people everywhere. Through our safe-driving initiative, we ask our participants and supporters to pledge never to drive while distracted.
The Hummingbird Foundation will hold its seventh fundraising event, The Hummingbird Run 5K & 10K Walk/Run in Wrentham, Massachusetts. Proceeds from the Hummingbird Run and other fundraising support:
• A drawing for $1,000 scholarships for high school seniors participating in the Hummingbird Run • Needs-based scholarships for intensive crash-prevention courses by In Control Crash Prevention

• A scholarship for a current student at Elizabeth’s alma mater, Curry College

• Programs to raise awareness of distracted driving

People who wish to promote their businesses are invited to sponsor the Hummingbird Run. Sponsors receive online and offline promotion at this popular event.
I hope you’ll decide to become a Hummingbird Run donor or sponsor and together we can make the roads safer for all
