The mission of the Ellis County Children's Advocacy Center (ECCAC) is to providing justice, hope, and healing to child victims through a multi-diciplinary team response to child abuse and child sexual assault.
At the ECCAC, we work with community partners such as Child Protective Services, Law Enforcement, hospitals, and the District and County Attorney's Office to facilitate joint investigations for child victims of sexual abuse and assault, sex trafficking, physical abuse, child witnesses to violent crimes, and children who live in a household where a child death has taken place.
The Advocacy Center provides a child friendly environment for children and their families. We have professional forensic interviewers who are trained to talk with children in a developmentally appropriate, legally sound, non-biased or leading, and culturally sensitive manner.
Family Advocacy services are provided for caregivers, linking them to vital resources in their community and victims compensation services. Our advocates work with the families to provide support in difficult times.
The Advocacy Center also provides mental health services such as Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Child-Centered Play Therapy, Family Therapy and Group Therapy/Support Groups for children and their non-offending caregivers and siblings.
All of the services provided by the center are free.
