The Mission of the Emge PTO is to help Emge students live the school mission- values,
beliefs and goals. The Emge PTO will do this through:
Section A. Communication- Communicate with families about school programs and student
progress through effective school-to-home and home-to-school communications.
Section B. Volunteerism- Encourage recruitment, training, work and schedules to involve
families as volunteers and audiences at the school or in other locations to support students and
school programs.
Section C. Fundraising- Provide financial support to the school and student body through
fundraising and other programs to meet the objectives of the Emge PTO and to keep Emge
Elementary in the strongest possible position to provide quality educational tools and programs.
Section D. Decision Making- Include families when possible as participants in school decision,
governance, and advocacy.
Section E. Collaboration with the Community- Coordinate community resources and services
for students, families, and the school with businesses, agencies, and other groups, and provide
services to the community.
Section F. Education at Home- Involve families and their children in learning activities at
home, including homework and other curriculum-related activities and decision.
Section G. Parenting Skills- Assist families with parenting and child rearing skills,
understanding child and adolescent development, setting supportive home conditions, and assist
schools in understanding families.
