ENCORE Theatre Group is a non-profit educational theatre company that seeks to build community and transform lives by providing high quality, intensive musical and non-musical theatre training, as well as theatrical performances of all kinds in the greater Los Angeles area.
Our purpose is to foster excellence in artistic expression, provide tools and training for our students to learn to fully express themselves and connect with others, and ensure that our students carry into the world the qualities of openness, self-confidence, teamwork and leadership. Our entire community benefits when our students take these qualities and translate them into careers as teachers, doctors, community leaders, entrepreneurs, police officers, and parents.
We believe that theatre changes lives and communities. Our goal is to have an impact on the communities in which we perform by bringing people together through great storytelling that helps us see how alike we all are. This will increase social justice and cultural equity as our students and participants learn to see the world as a community instead of us vs. them. Students will learn they are stronger as a team , made up of different backgrounds and experiences, than as an individual.
