The mission of Enfield Food Shelf is to ensure that no Enfield family in need is without food assistance. Each week of the year, we welcome on average 375 families who visit our pantry for suplemental food. We pride ourselves on creating an environment that is friendly and provides dignity to every individual. Each shopper selects their own foods to satisy their particular tastes, dietary restrictions, and cultural preferences. In addition to food items, we regularly distribute personal care items, cleaning supplies, clothing, and household goods. Enfield Food Shelp operates several other programs in addition to the food pantry that include, providing snacks for a before & after school program, providing warm/cold weather comfort kits for unhoused individuals, home delivery of groceries for people with medical or transportation difficulties, emergency food bags, and we facilitate a bi-weekly mobile food pantry that is open to all.

None of this is possible without community collaborations. We work with first responders, Social Services, a seasonal warming center, public schools, and other town non-profit organizations. None of this work is possible without the dedication of 80+ weekly volunteers who stock shelves, evaluate food doantion quality/safety, help during distribution, do data entry, and rescue foods from the local grocery stores.
