ABOUT US - Escondido Arts Partnership

Established in December 1995 as Escondido, California’s official 501(c)(3) non-profit arts agency, the mission of the Escondido Arts Partnership (EAP) is to create a collaborative environment where Southern California’s art and artists can prosper. The EAP nurtures a EAP-aboutcommunity of artists with opportunities for ongoing arts education, peer and public interactions, exhibitions, and performance space. Further, the EAP’s mission is to enhance the quality of life in the Southern California region through offering diverse artistic, education, social and entertainment experiences.

The Escondido Arts Partnership Municipal Gallery provides a destination for visitors in downtown Escondido and is home to over 400 local artists. We offer free ongoing arts education, monthly exhibitions with free entry, and performance space to approx 2000 visitors a month and operate a California State Certified Farmer’s market. Our high caliber exhibitions, like the “Wood: a Furniture Show” featured woodworkers whose artistic excellence was recognized by Senator Joel Anderson. Themed exhibitions like “Art & Science”, “Local Color” for Veterans’ Arts, “Recycled Art” and more, challenge artists from the region to create new work to be viewed. The EAP provides an environment where all ages can learn about art and community issues through creative expression and hands-on exploration. The 2nd Saturday  Art Connection, for example, pairs arts professionals with community members and together they explore new techniques through hands-on workshops. As a community space it’s important for us to be socially relevant and address community issues in a fun and engaging way, which we choose to do through art. Programs like the Recycled Materials Runway Event fashion show and Recycled Arts Exhibition is our way of advancing recycling efforts and talking about complex environmental issues through an artistic medium. Focusing on programming with themes common to everyone is our key to drawing large crowds regularly. We anticipate an increase in interest and visitation to art shows with socially relevant themes to increase tourism and be part of a vibrant downtown Escondido and the San Diego region.
