Esperanza Immigrant Rights Project is a non-profit organization and a part of Catholic Charities of Los Angeles (Tax I.D. # 95-1690973). For almost fifteen years, Esperanza’s mission has been to inspire hope for Southern California’s most vulnerable immigrant communities, by defending and empowering immigrants facing deportation from the U.S. Esperanza is on the frontlines working to educate, empower and defend indigent immigrants facing deportation from the US. For years we have given them hope, guidance, and support. For years, we have helped them access justice, and integrate into a new country. All immigrants should have access to justice and due process, no matter the color of their skin and ability to pay. The immigration system needs a drastic overall to better protect the most vulnerable. This Fiscal Year, Esperanza has helped thousands of individuals fighting for asylum and seeking to avoid deportation from the U.S. Specifically, we are working with 900 clients in removal proceeding, and we have provided legal services to more than 6,000 unaccompanied minors, adults and families. We remain committed to our clients and to providing a source of stability for the community.
