Allow me to introduce you to Eva’s Heroes. We are a San Antonio, Texas based nonprofit, established in 2006 by Eva Longoria Bastón and Christiane Garcia. The mission of Eva's Heroes is to enrich the lives of individuals with intellectual special needs. Over the years, Eva’s Heroes has provided recreational based activities such as zip-lining, dancing, yoga, golfing, escape rooms, and even indoor skydiving! In March of 2020, we quickly adapted to a virtual interactive program. The virtual activities included exercise, cooking, arts & crafts classes, amongst many other experiences. We also reinvented our community engagement by bringing local and overseas experiences and points of interest to participants’ screens. We were able to offer these interactive program activities almost every day to create a sense of fellowship. We continued virtual activities throughout the 2021 Summer Enrichment Program. In addition, we carefully curated a select lineup of in-person events while following CDC guidelines.
