Founded in 1960, Family & Community Services of Somerset County is a non-profit 501(c)(3) agency that offers mental health, addictions, and other community-based services to children, adolescents, and adults who live or work in Somerset County or surrounding communities. Our mission is to enhance the quality of life of individuals. families, and communities by providing mental health and addictions services and innovative community based programs.
Our programs:
Mental Health Program- Services for individuals, couples, families, and groups of all ages. Issues addressed include: behavioral/school problems; depression/anxiety/other emotional difficulties; divorce/separation/single parent issues; domestic/relationship problems; parent-child conflict/parenting skills.
Addictions Program- Services addressed include: comprehensive assessments for adults and adolescents; individual and group counseling for alcohol and drug abuse, recovery and relapse program; legal issues/DUI/Probation; Codependency/family issues; aftercare counseling; urinalysis drug screening.
Community Service Program- Outreach programs including: School based services; services to at-risk children and their families; community education on topics including: stress management, mental health issues; substance abuse; parent efectiveness; domestic violence prevention.
The "Arise" Program- An innovative program for At-Risk Youth which provides non-violent coping skills, individual and group counseling, life skills education, recreational and cultural activities and case management.
