Family Promise of Bergen County empowers working families experiencing and at risk of homelessness to become self-sufficient by providing temporary housing and personalized support. We address food insecurity with our Walk-in-Dinner Program where we are now serving 200 dinners every night to neighbors experiencinghomelessness and hunger. Before the pandemic, we provided 80 meals a night but since the cost of food is skyrocketing, the number of people who need meals hasdramatically increased. Many families tell us these meals help prevent them from becoming homeless as it removes a large household expense. We are committed to addressing these issues because they are key to reducing intergenerational poverty and increasing economic mobility.
