Family Promise of Orange County provides qualifying families with a safe place to sleep at night by partnering with local congregational partners who have the capacity to provide short-term emergency shelter. These partners provide a safe place to sleep, meals, and hospitality on a rotating basis. During the days, Family Promise of Orange County engages community volunteers to work with the families to help find employment, provide transportation to work and school, and develop the necessary skills to lift themselves out of poverty. Transitional housing and two years of graduate support are available for those who need it. Since Family Promise opened its doors in Orange County in 2012, more than 90% of the families served have moved on to permanent homes.
