First Ladies Farm and Sanctuary, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization, is an urban farm and animal sanctuary located in Riverview, Florida, and serving Hillsborough and surrounding counties. We rescue cats, dogs, goats, and domestic poultry, providing love, care, and a safe haven for as long as it takes to find their forever home. In addition, FLFAS provides sanctuary to many special needs animals who will remain in our care for the duration of their lives. FLFAS not only rescues, provides medical care, and finds loving adoptive homes or sanctuary for cats and dogs, we have also developed the unique programs listed below.

Street Strife to Farm Life: Working Cat Program, a unique reimagining of TNVR (trap, neuter, vaccinate, release), in which we trap cats who are unsafe and unwanted, and deliver them, at no cost, to new homes. Their new homes are often farms, where cats help to control rodents and other pests, in exchange for shelter, love, and care.

Senior Cats for Senior Laps Program in which mature cats are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, and health checked before being match with a special member of the community who is an adult over the age of 65, disabled, or at risk for health complications. We provide transportation assistance to annual health checks, as needed, and maintain an End of Life agreement.

In 2023, First Ladies Farm and Sanctuary received 9 Best of the Bay nominations, winning in 8 categories including Best Non-Profit, and Best Women-Owned Business. We achieved the following local impact:

·         368 Cats rescued and adopted into loving homes

·         318 Cats placed through the Street Strife to Farm Life program

·         302 Cats served through traditional TNVR

·         47 Dogs rescued and placed in loving homes
