Established in 2008 and part of 150 First Tee programs nationwide and internationally, First Tee – Coachella Valley is a program of Coachella Valley Youth Foundation, a 501 ( c ) (3) nonprofit organization, located at The Golf Center in Palm Desert. Our purpose is to enable kids to build the strength of character that empowers them through a lifetime of new challenges. By teaching kids First Tee’s Nine Core Values, we aim to put them on course to a healthy, active lifestyle.
FTCV’s goal is to continue expanding its program to Desert Hot Springs and eventually to all 16 PSUSD elementary schools to impact the lives of some 8,000 children. Our programs provide kids with safe, fun activities while teaching them First Tee’s Nine Core Values. The Nine Core character building values are honesty, integrity, sportsmanship, respect, confidence, responsibility, perseverance, courtesy and judgement. Concurrent to this, FTCV oversees 15 Desert Sands Unified School District schools impacting approximately another 10,600 children. FTCV also provides its 9-week Golf Course programs at six active sites in Palm Springs , Palm Desert and Indio impacting nearly 1000 kids.
We strongly believe all local children should experience the life skills and core values inherent in the game and to have the opportunity whether they have access to a golf course.
