We are a Parent Teacher Association (PTA) for Flora M. Singer Elementary School - a large and diverse K-5 school in Silver Spring, MD. Our goals are to:
*GIVE all families, teachers and staff the opportunity to develop relationships with others in the community who can answer questions and make everyone feel comfortable in the school.
•ORGANIZE educational enrichment activities before and after school, including offering scholarships, and fun family activities which are sponsored and/or funded by the Singer PTA.
•SUPPORT the teachers and staff by providing items needed by the school such as library materials, musical instruments, and showing them appreciation by sponsoring a Staff Breakfast, Staff Appreciation Week and reimbursement for purchasing school supplies.
•HELP parents navigate the school system. Provide information that families need to support their children in school, such as math and reading workshops. These workshops will be conducted to address the cultural diversity of the school.
•PROVIDE opportunities to foster a sense of community for all parents, children, and staff by sponsoring community service events such as clothing and food drives!
