Our mission is to rescue, foster and rehome domestically bred pet skunks throughout the State of Florida and the U.S. We accept pet skunks whose owners can no longer keep them no matter the reason. The Florida Skunk Rescue fosters and finds homes for pet skunks whose owners can no longer keep them throughout the State of Florida. We house, feed, and give necessary medical care to these skunks until a forever home is found. All of our skunks are made current on their vaccinations and are spayed/neutered prior to adoption.
On average, our organization finds homes for 40+ skunks each year. We participate in pet adoption events throughout the State to educate the public about pet skunk ownership and to find foster and forever homes for these skunks. Last year, part of our funds went to help a skunk that had injured his leg and it required amputation. Another skunk developed an infection after a spay repair and required expensive emergency treatment.
