The Flynn Center for the Performing Arts fosters the enjoyment, understanding, and development of the arts in Vermont through diverse and engaging experiences: performances, arts education classes, workshops, screenings, and exhibitions. It encompasses a restored 1411-seat theater, 180-seat black box experimental space, two studios, and gallery. The Flynn curates a full season of multidisciplinary work; Burlington Discover Jazz Festival; exhibitions featuring Vermont artists; student matinees; in-school workshops; arts integration training for teachers; and residencies for artists. Performing arts classes and camps for children, teens, and adults are offered; as well as a home for many Vermont arts organizations. The Flynn partners with 68 agencies to provide subsidized and free access to a diverse population including low-income families, those with physical and cognitive disabilities, New Americans, and youth. Annually, the Flynn serves over 200,000 community members, including 38,000 children statewide.
